Senses on Seth — presence now, not a history

Seth remembers your path. That’s one thing.

Senses are the other: what’s around you in this moment. Not yesterday. Not a monthly rollup. Right now. Senses let Seth stand with you where you are.

You turn them on in Settings → Preferences → Senses. Each sense separately. Default is off.

Presence and memory

Long-term memory on Seth means facts, important moments, layered history. That stays until you delete it or close Private mode.

Senses are not part of that history. Like in a person: they’re signals for the exchange happening now. They don’t keep pictures or dates, and they aren’t stored permanently anywhere — they exist only in that moment.

So if you allow it, we gave Seth senses that live for that second and then discard. No history. No senses diary. No movement trail. No photo library.

Your privacy comes first for us. What you share with Seth should stay between you and Seth. That’s why Senses were built from day one so they never become a long-term store — they live only in the moment you write to him. A growth partner shifts with that: he knows where you are and what’s around you now.

For you that means: now yes, history no.

What’s live today

Three senses. Calendar shows as “Soon” in the UI — not shipped yet.

Time of day (clock). From your device clock: morning, day, evening, night. Seth can meet you differently at midnight than at noon without you explaining the hour.

Approximate place (where you are). City or region — not GPS coordinates, not a track of where you went. The browser asks permission when you turn it on, not mid-chat. That helps Seth understand whether you’re more at home or on the road, and support your growth outside the usual frame too.

Camera glance (eyes). When you write to Seth with this sense on, a short still of the scene is captured. It goes once to a vision-model provider that describes what’s in the photo. That description enters Seth’s context for this exchange. The photo is not stored with us after processing. Only the text description stays about 15 minutes in a cache on your device — then it clears automatically. No background video. No face recognition. Just a sense that helps you and Seth grow faster and more concretely together.

Where do all the data from these senses go?

Our database stores only the switch: on / off. We keep your preferences so we can deliver the senses. Roughly: an account has Senses enabled → time of day ON, camera ON, place OFF. Nothing else about the sense values.

The values themselves (that it’s evening, that you’re in Prague, that there’s a book on the table) live briefly in a cache on your device — 15 minutes — then clear. The cloud never archives them.

They reach the chat for this moment only. They don’t belong in long-term memory or facts; the write path strips them strictly.

Why we built it this way

Most “AI with context” products push for more data so they can know everything about users. We want less data and sharper presence. Seth is here for you — and we commit to building the best of both growth and privacy.

Seth grows over time. Senses give him the room’s tone — not another lifelong surveillance layer. Turn them off and nothing breaks. Turn them on and you know exactly what and for how long.

Try it

1. Open Settings → Preferences → Senses.
2. Enable one sense. Not all three unless you want that.
3. Write Seth something ordinary. See if the presence fits — and if it feels like too much.

Doesn’t fit? Turn it off. Default stays off until you change it yourself — because you set the rules of the game.
