The body speaks first
Most "inner crises" start with two nights without sleep.
Before we get into the meaning of life, I ask how much you slept and when you last ate. Not to make light of it — because a sleep-deprived person sees the world differently, and the decisions that come out of it are usually bad ones. The body sends the signal before the head does; we just usually drown it out with work. If the same state keeps coming back, look at sleep, food and movement first, and only then at the story about yourself.
A question from Seth
How much did you sleep the last three nights?
