The question that turns attention from what someone did to you toward what you can still move.

As long as the problem is outside — the boss, the partner, the system — there is nothing to grab hold of, even if you are right a hundred times. This question is not about who caused it. It is finding the one place where you have leverage. Sometimes that place is small: how you answer, whether you call, when you go to sleep. A small place you can move beats a big truth you cannot.
